Can you believe it? Lawmakers push to amend the Constitution, paving the way for Trump’s 3rd term!
In a bold step, Republican House member Andy Ogles has proposed a motion to change the US Constitution, which currently bars anyone from serving more than two terms as President. Specifically, Ogles’ proposal seeks to amend this prohibition to read, “No person shall be elected to the office of President more than three times.
“According to Ogles, this amendment is required because Trump, in his opinion, has shown an extraordinary ability to reverse the country’s decline and restore its greatness. Furthermore, he underlined the importance of giving Trump more time and resources to remedy what he regarded as the Biden administration’s detrimental policies. In addition to these reasons, Ogles stated his intention to propose amendments to the 22nd Amendment, which limits presidential terms, stating that such changes are critical to the nation’s future.
Although Trump first downplayed predictions of a third term, he later laughed about the idea after winning the 2024 election. For example, in a conversation with Republican senators, he said, “I suspect I won’t run again unless you do something.” unless you say, ‘He’s so good, we have to figure it out.’”In addition to lobbying for constitutional reforms, Ogles complimented Trump’s quick implementation of programs during his second administration. For example, he cited Trump’s efforts to protect the southern border, limit gender identities to male and female, increase energy output, and withdraw from the World Health Organisation.
Finally, Ogles said that the 22nd Amendment, enacted in 1951 to prevent four-term presidents like Franklin D. Roosevelt, needed to be revised to address contemporary concerns. This initiative has provoked heated debate, assuring that it will be a hot topic in the coming months.
