“From heartbreak to hope—Joshua’s relentless spirit can still reignite his world title dream!”

Despite his recent failures, former heavyweight sensation David Price has backed two-time world champion Anthony Joshua to win the title again.

After suffering a heartbreaking knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in September, which ended his ambitions of becoming a three-time heavyweight champion, Joshua, 35, finds himself at a turning point in his career.

Anthony Joshua had won four straight fights prior to that loss, defeating Jermaine Franklin, Robert Helenius, Otto Wallin, and Francis Ngannou in commanding fashion. Many boxing fans have stated that Joshua should retire after losing to Dubois. Price does not think the British Olympic gold medallist, who was born in Nigeria, can become an uncontested or unified champion, but he does think he can still win a global championship. Price stated in a Mirror interview:

“I think he can definitely win another version of a world title.” The best he could hope for is that. It’s certainly asking a bit much to be unified or uncontested, but you never know what the future will bring. He is a true professional, has a positive outlook on the game, and doesn’t allow failures to define him. His response to the altercation with Andy Ruiz demonstrated that.

Price, who had a hard time getting over his first professional loss, commended Joshua’s fortitude. “I was devastated by my first defeat, but Anthony Joshua has the fortitude to go on.” He still has several good fights left, such as a rematch with Dillian Whyte. Why not continue competing if he’s fit and driven? He is passionate about the sport, and a boxer needs to be hungry.

According to Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn, “AJ” has a number of possibilities for his upcoming bout, particularly if Tyson Fury stays retired. The Sun claims that Daniel Dubois, Joseph Parker, Agit Kabayel, Zhilei Zhang, Deontay Wilder, Martin Bakole, and Dillian Whyte are possible rivals.
