KENDRICK LAMAR SWEEPS THE GRAMMYS WITH FIVE MASSIVE WINS!

On Sunday night, February 2, 2025, At the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. US rapper Kendrick Lamar made history at the Grammy Awards when his song “Not Like Us” won all five of the categories for which it was nominated. The song won Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Music Video. It was a diss tune against Drake during the height of their rap feud in 2024.

With 22 Grammys overall, Kendrick Lamar is currently two behind Jay-Z and Kanye West, who each have 24. Sierra Ferrell won Grammys in every Americana category, giving her a Grammy sweep. She received nominations for Best Americana Album, Best American Roots Song, and Best American Roots Performance.

Beyoncé won three prizes in all, including Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “II Most Wanted” and Best Country Album for Cowboy Carter. Jon Batiste, Sabrina Carpenter, Gustavo Dudamel, Samara Joy, and CeCe Winans each took home two victories, while Charli XCX and St. Vincent each earned three.

With her song “Love Me Jeje,” Tems defeated formidable competitors like Davido, Asake, Wizkid, and Yemi Alade in the Best African Music Performance category, becoming the first Nigerian artist to win two Grammys in a row and the only Nigerian female artist. Tems’s appearance on Future and Drake’s “Wait For U” earned her the Grammy for Best Melodic Rap Performance in 2024.
