In what he described as the start of a discussion to end the war in Ukraine, President Trump claimed to have held a “lengthy and highly productive phone call” with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump later claimed to have had a conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Trump made no mention of how the interests of Ukraine would be taken into account during the talks.
