The Trump administration threatened federal employees Friday with “adverse consequences” for failing to report colleagues who violated directives to remove diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts from their organizations. Tens of thousands of employees were warned that officials would not accept any attempts to “disguise these programs by using coded or imprecise language” and were given 10 days to submit any findings to a designated email account or face disciplinary action.
Trump has also taken moves to carry out his campaign pledge of mass deportations of unauthorized immigrants. The Justice Department published a memo yesterday instructing US attorneys to investigate and prosecute state and local officials who failed to execute the administration’s new immigration rules.
This decision comes as the Homeland Security Department prepares to execute raids in cities with a large population of unauthorized immigrants.
Concerned that career department officials may refuse to carry out orders they believe are immoral or illegal, the Trump administration has contemplated disciplining prosecutors who fail to comply.Stay current and connect with us on [Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/share/1An4REwgwy/?mibextid=wwXIfr].
